  Atef Bolos has over 30 years of experience in fine jewelry design and production. He was born in the city of Palmier (pronounced Teddmor in Arabic) in the Syrian dessert and raised in the ancient city of Aleppo (pronounced Halab in Arabic). In 1977 he started working in the jewelry business as a way to make money while earning his degree in Economics at Aleppo University. In time he expanded his operation to include three other jewelers, supplying his hand crafted designs to jewelry stores in Syria. In 1988 Atef emigrated to the United States where he went to work designing and making fine jewelry for some of the leading jewelry companies in the country. He quickly became known for his elegant designs and fine craftsmanship. In 1994 he moved to Albany, New York where he continued to design and make jewelry for fine jewelry companies. In December of 1998 he opened Atef Fine Jeweler in North Adams, Massachusetts. He moved to his present location at 101 Main Street in North Adams in November of 2002, where he continues to provide the community with fine jewelry and service as good as gold. Atef officially became a United States Citizen in November of 2003 and was honored with a community celebration where he was presented with gifts from both the city and state in commemoration of his citizenship. |
